Earthship v1.0

So here's my first rough sketch of our future Earthship.  The scaling is way off, of course, so the depth of the house will not be as long as it appears on paper.  Just an idea of how we want it laid out.

Here's a shot of about half (or less than half) of the bottles we have saved so far.  I scored a huge load of wine bottles at a wine tasting at the country club I work at.  We also have a huge stockpile of beer, liquor, and sauce bottles boxed up in a large storage closet at home.  We easily have 1000 bottles saved so far.  Just one more piece to the puzzle...

I like it!!! It's really cool, Jeremy. Of course you know that, even though I'm married to a contractor, you are gonna have to explain it to me better in person (that fake blondeness showing)! haha!
And, HEY, don't forget the case or two of bottles we have stored here at our house!! I've had to consume major quantities of Stella Rosa and that awesome Muscadine juice from Arkansas and, don't forget, all that horrid 40 Creek that "poor Anthony" has had to consume too!!! LOL!

We just bought land in Nevada. Was it easy to get building permits for an earthship home? This is what we want to build as well. Please tell about your experiences. Is your home completed now?

How is your project going? I'm looking at land in Elko County, about 30 miles from Montello...are you going through building inspectors and all that jazz? Looking to do sandbag style or earthship-like...need something flood-proof.

Let us all know how it's going, especially if you get permits!
